Seen in the late autumn

I saw the clouds break.
I saw them broken.
I saw the sharp line between light and a sliver of shadow.
I saw the horizon offering.
I saw the light, that same light, dip a bit, darker.
I saw the hope drain away.
I saw a showroom where we are seen.
I saw what I shouldn't see.
I saw you carefully averting your eyes.
I saw the slowly rotating decor.
I saw an opportunity.
I saw that you took it.
I saw that sandwich and its promise.
I saw the request to sing given to everyone within earshot.
I saw the lampshade sway while little hands pound walls.
I saw them alive with it.
I saw that sawhorse holding your precious things.
I saw that it wasn't work, actually.
I saw her pacing like an apex predator using the furniture to steady herself.
I saw the imperceptible once, no, twice.
I saw many fine stones, unturned.
I saw the empty room where I saw nothing.
I saw the view.
